Description: Custom built Murphy Door! This a bookshelf that conceals a secret door which accesses a hidden room. I started by building a wall to the client's existing basement, then built the bookshelf/door out of solid maple. Heavy duty, commercial grade pivot hinges are utilized which are rated for over 500 pounds, so the door can be loaded up with books and knick-knacks without issue. I've also crafted two faux books which are hand painted and function as a lock and lever to open the door.
